Develop athletes as they grow

Our aim at Hunterdon FC is to give children the basic fundamentals they will need, not only for soccer, but any sport. It is extremely important for us as a club to make sure we are delivering the best teaching philosophy to ensure an enjoyable experience as well as the appropriate skills.  If the children don't learn the correct skills they will not improve and think that soccer is not for them.  When the time comes for them to choose a sport or activity, we want soccer to be one of them.

We will be focusing on 3 main components.

• Motor Skills - Learning basic body movement is something that’s not taught enough at a young age. Ball skills and coordination cannot be executed to the best ability without learning basic motor skills. If this is taught at a young age it will improve understanding/learning more advanced soccer skills as they grow.
• Ball Skills - Ball skills not only introduce the basic fundamentals of the sport but develop the understanding of movement with a ball. This trains the brain and develops motor skills.
• Coordination - Coordination drills are great for young muscles and confidence but also for stimulation of their brain.
